General Rental Information
What types of boats are available for rent?
We offer a fleet of well-maintained center-console powerboats suitable for various activities, including fishing, cruising, and sightseeing.

We are situated at 220 Scranton Ave, Falmouth, MA 02540, within the Flying Bridge Marina, providing direct access to Falmouth Harbor and nearby destinations like Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Click here to view our location with Google Maps.
What are your operating hours?
Our rentals are available daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM during the boating season (May through October).
Booking & Reservations
How can I make a reservation?
Reservations can be made through our website at flyingbridgeboatrentals.com or by calling us at (774) 255-3457. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season.
Is a deposit required?
No, a deposit is not required.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the rental date will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours are non-refundable unless due to inclement weather conditions deemed unsafe by our staff.
Eligibility & Requirements
Do I need a boating license to rent a boat?
In Massachusetts, a boating license is not required; however all boaters are now required to show proof of completion of an approved boater education course when underway on the waters of Massachusetts. You do not need to be a MA resident to take this online course.
Is prior boating experience necessary?
While prior experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Our staff provides a comprehensive orientation covering boat operation, safety procedures, and navigation to ensure you are comfortable before departure.
Safety & Equipment
What safety equipment is provided?
All boats are equipped with U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets, fire extinguishers, flares, sound-producing devices, and first aid kits.
Are children allowed on the boats?
Yes, children are welcome. Life jackets for children are provided, and Massachusetts law requires that children under 12 wear a life jacket at all times while on the boat.
Can I bring my own safety equipment?
You may bring personal safety equipment, but our provided gear meets all regulatory requirements.
What to Bring
What should I bring for my rental?
We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, appropriate clothing, snacks, beverages, and a fully charged mobile phone. Coolers are permitted, but please avoid glass containers.
Is fishing allowed?
Yes, fishing is permitted. Ensure you have a valid Massachusetts fishing license, which can be obtained online through the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game.
Can I bring alcohol on board?
Moderate alcohol consumption is allowed for passengers of legal drinking age. However, the boat operator must remain sober at all times.
Pets & Accessibility
Are pets allowed on the boats?
Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome. Please inform us in advance if you plan to bring a pet, and ensure they are under control at all times.
Is there wheelchair accessibility?
Due to the nature of our boats and dock facilities, accessibility may be limited. Please contact us to discuss specific needs, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Where can I go with the rental boat?

Are there areas I should avoid?
Yes, certain areas are restricted due to navigational hazards or environmental protections. These will be clearly outlined during your pre-departure briefing.
Is GPS provided?
Yes, our boats are equipped with GPS units to assist with navigation.
Fuel & Maintenance
Is fuel included in the rental price?
Fuel is not included. Boats are provided with a full tank. We will refuel the boat for you when you return, and the cost will be added to your final bill.
What if the boat encounters mechanical issues?
In the unlikely event of mechanical problems, contact us immediately using the provided emergency number. We will dispatch assistance promptly.
Are there penalties for late returns?
Yes, late returns may incur additional charges. Please adhere to your scheduled return time to avoid penalties.
Insurance & Liability
Is insurance included with the rental?
Our rentals include basic liability insurance. However, renters are responsible for any damages incurred during the rental period. We recommend reviewing your personal insurance policies for additional coverage options.
What happens if I damage the boat?
Renters are liable for any damages beyond normal wear and tear. Repair costs will be deducted from your security deposit, and additional charges may apply if damages exceed the deposit amount.
